Sponsored Listing: 1991 Honda NSR250R MC21 for Sale

After seeing so many 90s sport bikes with cartoonish colors, vivid race-replica styles, and wild graphics, today's Sponsored Listing from Moto2 Imports in black and grey seems positively... Mature. A little ironic, considering the bike's only purpose in life is to carve corners and clip apexes while being thrashed to within an inch of its life!

One of the most sought-after of the quarter-liter two-stroke sportbikes, this particular NSR250 is the MC21 version that featured a distinctive, asymmetrical "gull arm" swingarm. It was heavier than the simpler design found on the earlier MC18, but allowed the right side exhaust's expansion chamber to tuck in closer to the bike's centerline for improved cornering clearance and looks very trick.

The NSR250R was powered by a 90° liquid-cooled 249cc v-twin with a six-speed cassette gearbox. Power was restricted by Japanese regulations to 45hp, but more was available from de-restricted bikes like today's example. The package weighted in at under 300lbs dry, so the 60hp or so found here should provide plenty of entertainment. The MC21 may have used carburetors, but they were controlled by Honda's very sophisticated PGMIII system that created a three-dimensional ignition map for each cylinder, based on throttle-position, revs, and gear. 17" wheels at both ends means it should be a little bit easier to find modern performance rubber, compared to the earlier MC18's 18" rear wheel.
