Primarily consisting of paint and graphics, the base of the Boxer Cup bike is the standard R1100S. Subtle changes were made fitting of the track-day nature of the machine, including upgraded Ohlins suspension, braking improvements courtesy of braided lines, and Laser under-the-seat exhaust. Handling was improved by raising the rear of the bike to quicken steering and increase ground clearance. As the cylinder heads are typically the first hard parts to touch down during spirited riding, carbon fiber valve covers and special cylinder head sliders were fitted. The belly pan is race spec and designed to hold oil should the engine decide to shed itself of its life blood. This was all topped off by Randy Mamola’s signature on the fairing, making the bike look like it is ready to high side while sitting on the side stand. There is a reportedly different engine management chip installed after the first dealer service, but there is no power difference claimed for this model.
